BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN AQUACULTURE WITH HONOURS

  • PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Aquaculture is one of the prioritized fields in the food production sector in this country. It contributes to national productivity and enhances the economic status of small-scale farmers and entrepreneurs involved in this field. In line with the efforts of the government and private sector to continuously increase productivity through the development and adoption of new technologies in this sector, job opportunities in this field are vast and growing over time.

Aquatic Biology, Fisheries Biostatistics, Aquaculture Biotechnology, Aquaculture Economics, Aquaculture Ecosystems, Life Sciences Physiochemistry, Aquaculture Engineering, Food Safety and Quality in Seafood, Aquatic Invertebrate Culture, Live Feed Culture, Aquatic Environmental Microbiology, Fish Nutrition and Feed Technology, Aquatic Product Processing, Introduction to the Aquaculture Industry, Fish Health Management, Water Quality Management for Aquaculture, Scientific Writing in Fisheries, Aquaculture Systems and Technology, Aquaculture Production Techniques, Hatchery Techniques.

  • ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

STPM (SCIENCE) GRADUATES
Achieve a minimum Grade B in ONE (1) subject at the STPM level:
• Biology / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics T.


MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION (SCIENCE / ENGINEERING) GRADUATES
Achieve a minimum Grade B in ONE (1) subject at the Matriculation/Foundation level:
• Biology / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics.


DIPLOMA/EQUIVALENT GRADUATES
Possess a Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 in a field related to the applied course;

OR

other qualifications recognized as equivalent and approved by the University Senate.


MALAYSIAN UNIVERSITY ENGLISH TEST (MUET)
Applicants must achieve a minimum of BAND 3.0 for results obtained from Session 1, 2021 onwards, or BAND 3 for results obtained in 2020 or earlier, provided the results remain valid at the time of application
