Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) is a public university located in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu, Malaysia. Established in 2001 as a branch campus of Universiti Putra Malaysia, it was upgraded to a full-fledged university in 2007. UMT is well known for its specialisation in marine science, aquatic resources, and environmental studies, aligned with its strategic location near the South China Sea. In addition, UMT offers a wide range of academic programmes in the fields of science, technology, management, and the humanities.
