BACHELOR IN SCIENCE (MARINE BIOLOGY) WITH HONOURS

  • PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This program emphasizes marine life resources, aiming to equip graduates with the skills to manage and develop these resources effectively. Students will gain comprehensive knowledge of marine sciences and their impact on marine ecosystems. Special focus is given to the development of products derived from marine life resources. Practical training will highlight the diverse coral reefs and abundant marine life in the South China Sea.

Marine Invertebrate Biology, Coral Reef Biology and Ecology, Marine Vertebrate Biology, Estuary and Mangrove Ecology, Methods & Instrumentation in Marine Biology, Life and Oceans, Marine Microbial Diversity, Management Approaches & Environmental Impact Assessment, Marine Primary Producers, Planktonology, Introduction to Marine Biotechnology, Principles of Marine Biochemistry, Biodiversity Management and Conservation, Principles of Marine Ecology, Physical and Geological Marine Oceanography, Statistics and Biological Data Management

  • ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

STPM (SCIENCE) GRADUATES
Achieve a minimum Grade C in ONE (1) subject at STPM level:

• Chemistry
• Additional Mathematics


MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION (SCIENCE / ENGINEERING) GRADUATES
Achieve a minimum Grade C in ONE (1) subject at Matriculation/Foundation level:
• Biology
• Physics
• Chemistry
• Mathematics


DIPLOMA/EQUIVALENT
Possess a diploma with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 in a field related to the course applied for;
OR
other qualifications recognized as equivalent and approved by the University Senate.


MALAYSIAN UNIVERSITY ENGLISH TEST (MUET)
Applicants must achieve a minimum of BAND 3.0 for results obtained from Session 1, 2021 onwards, or BAND 3 for results obtained in 2020 or earlier, provided the results remain valid at the time of application
