BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (FINANCIAL MATHEMATICS) WITH HONOURS

  • PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This program is designed to provide knowledge on the application of mathematical methods such as probability theory, statistics, optimization, stochastic analysis, and economic theory to financial problems, including investment, insurance, Islamic finance, risk analysis, and more. In line with the development of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0), several core courses in the program have been integrated with SAS modules, which provide SAS certification to graduates at the end of the program. This certification adds value to the graduates as it is globally recognized and in high industry demand. Students will be exposed to the use of mathematical concepts and theories in finance.

Linear Algebra, Real Analysis, Financial Derivatives, Calculus, Industrial Training, Macroeconomics, Investment Mathematics, Systematic Thinking and Programming, Stochastic Modelling and Applications, Introduction to Stochastic Differential Equations, Optimization, Operations Research with SAS, Ordinary Differential Equations, Final Year Project, Statistics, Probability Theory in Finance

  • ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

STPM (SCIENCE) GRADUATES
Achieve a minimum Grade C in Mathematics T at the STPM level.


MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION (SCIENCE / ENGINEERING) GRADUATES
Achieve a minimum Grade C in Mathematics at the Matriculation / Foundation level.


DIPLOMA/EQUIVALENT GRADUATES
Possess a Diploma or other qualifications recognized as equivalent and approved by the University Senate.


MALAYSIAN UNIVERSITY ENGLISH TEST (MUET)
Applicants must achieve a minimum of BAND 3.0 for results obtained from Session 1, 2021 onwards, or BAND 3 for results obtained in 2020 or earlier, provided the results remain valid at the time of application.
