BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (NAUTICAL SCIENCE AND MARITIME TRANSPORTATION) WITH HONOURS

This program is developed based on the standard course modules for Ship Navigation Officers by the International Maritime Organization and the principles of commercial maritime transportation. The curriculum is designed to balance the academic requirements at the degree level with the competencies required for ship navigation officers. This program aims to produce human resources with expertise in ship organization, operations, and commercial management. It will increase the number of skilled graduates in sailing and shipping who will serve as ship navigation officers and contribute to the maritime industry through port management and administration.

English for Maritime Studies, Research Methods, Seamanship, Chartwork, Maritime Safety, Ship Stability, Magnetic and Gyro Compass, Maritime Meteorology, Basic Deck Officer Preparation Module, Astronomical Navigation, Ocean and Coastal Navigation, Emergency Operations on Ships, Sailing, Ship Construction, Basic Bridge Watchkeeping, Advanced Bridge Watchkeeping, Cargo Handling and Stowage, Ship Management and Leadership, Cargo Management, Planning and Management, Electronic Navigation Systems

STPM (SCIENCE) GRADUATES
Achieve a minimum Grade C in ONE (1) subject at the STPM level:
• Additional Mathematics
• Physics

Achieve a minimum Grade C at the SPM level:
• English

Pass the required test and/or interview


MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION (SCIENCE / ENGINEERING / ACCOUNTING)
Achieve a minimum Grade C in ONE (1) subject at the Matriculation/Foundation level:
• Mathematics
• Physics

Achieve a minimum Grade C at the SPM level:
• English

Pass the required test and/or interview


DIPLOMA/EQUIVALENT GRADUATES
Possess a Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 in a related field

OR

Possess other recognized qualifications equivalent to the diploma and approved by the University Senate.

MALAYSIAN UNIVERSITY ENGLISH TEST (MUET)
Applicants must achieve a minimum of BAND 3.0 for results obtained from Session 1, 2021 onwards, or BAND 3 for results obtained in 2020 or earlier, provided the results remain valid at the time of application
