In conjunction with the national month leading to the celebration of the 67^th Malaysia Independence Day, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) has launched the Wave Jalur Gemilang campaign at its campus.

The annual event held for over a decade is a manifestation by UMT community of the commitment towards the celebration of the national month and Malaysia Day.

UMT Vice Chancellor Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri Ibrahim said the university has planned various programmes in conjunction with the national month celebration.

“Alhamdulillah, we have successfully held the Wave Jalur Gemilang programme involving UMT’s official vehicles”

“UMT will conduct various programmes during the national month celebration to make the Wave Jalur Gemilang campaign more lively and encourage the patriotism spirit among the UMT community especially the students”.

In line with the Wave Jalur Gemilang campaign launched in July by the government, themed Malaysia Madani: Jiwa Merdeka, UMT has distributed about 500 Jalur Gemilang flags of various sizes to vehicles at the university’s main gate.

Meanwhile, UMT Student Council Representative Nur Sabrina Afiqah Md Sukor urged all students to participate in the programmes planned by the university.

“We encourage students to join in to make the events merrier and to instill patriotism towards the beloved country, Malaysia,” she said.
