KUALA NERUS, 23 Feb 2026 — Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) continues its strategic collaboration with Nestlé Malaysia through the organisation of the Kongsi Rezeki Ramadan programme, benefiting the campus community and surrounding residents, particularly those in need.

The corporate social responsibility initiative saw the distribution of 1,200 containers of bubur lambuk and 300 Ramadan baskets to asnaf students, university staff in need, and underprivileged families in areas around the campus.

UMT Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohd Zamri Ibrahim, in a speech delivered on his behalf by Pro Vice-Chancellor (Industry, Community and Digital Network) Prof. Ts. Dr. Noor Maizura Mohd Noor, stated that the second edition of the programme reflects the continued commitment of both parties to strengthening ties between higher education institutions and industry.

“This programme not only fosters values of gratitude and compassion during Ramadan, but also serves as a platform to expand strategic collaboration, including industrial training, research sponsorship and student talent development,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation to Nestlé Malaysia for contributing 300 Ramadan baskets containing various food products, as well as sponsoring iftar meals for attendees through a collaboration with the UMT Ihsan Centre.

Meanwhile, the communal preparation of bubur lambuk involved the participation of students, university staff and members of the local community, further strengthening the spirit of volunteerism and unity among the campus community.

One of the recipients, Nur Masliza binti Ab Aziz, 21, a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) student, said the assistance was meaningful in easing financial burdens during Ramadan.

“I am truly grateful and thankful for this contribution. It helps reduce daily expenses during the month of Ramadan,” she said.

UMT stated that its collaboration with Nestlé Malaysia will continue to be strengthened through various welfare initiatives and student development programmes in the future.
